We needed an experience
jockey for Flash and we are delighted to announce that Willie Carson is to
come out of retirement just to ride Flash in all the major races this year. Willie said, " I have had
many offers to get me out of retirement but I could not turn down the
opportunity of riding Flash in this years Derby. I feel really sorry for
Jordie missing out on the ride but he can have my lucky doll, Humphrey,

Jordie just missed out on the
ride by a few votes form the members of the Dock Racing Club. Conrad stills
believes that Jordie could ride Flash in one or two prep races but
acknowledges that Willie is better placed for races like the Derby and the
Breeders Cup. Conrad said,
" I can understand why the members voted for Willie and I
suppose that not having a passport adds complications when running in
the Breeders Cup, but Jordie is a very promising rider and he has put the
disappointment behind him. He has already been on the phone to Henry Cecil
to see if he can be stable jockey at Warren Palace this year!"
